Thank You So Much for the wonderful pictures. Did you install memory correctly? Great step by step coverage! There is no locking clip. Removing the battery and attempting to start it on Disaszembly power alone resulted in the same effect, nor did reconnecting everything.
If you have two modules, try removing them one by one.

And also if it is the backlight, where can it be found. Are you installing the correct driver downloaded form HP website?
Did you lock the CPU socket? Do you know where I can find that little tiny brown plastic piece?
In the step 3 you simply unsnap two antenna cables from the card with your fingernails. Excuse me for this large post, i tried to be specific so you can understand. I then noted that the heatsink does not sit flush with the nvidia chip, and therefore used a British one pence piece with some thermal paste either side of it and placed this on top of the nvidia chip. I was left with a dv that has a cracked screen and it would be cool if I could remove the monitor all in all and run it as sort of a media center since it still works.
Did you remove the heat sink for cleaning?
Just the thing I hate about HP laptops. The barrel of the AC adapter was the problem if eventually fell right out. Can you test the laptop with an external monitor. The system clock is not running, just runs from pm then goes back to 10 again.
Maybe you are confusing it with a pavipion drive LED? Now the same problem, but i find it odd that sometimes i turne the laptop and everything looks great, as it should, and other times only the bad resolution… plus the last weekend it even start with a black monitor.

If the power connector fails, you can desolder it from the board and replace with a new one or replace the entire power connector board. First of all, make sure memory modules seated correctly. If video appears on the external monitor but not internal, check connection between the video cable and motherboard.
Took me swapping the memory in each slot pavillion get the computer to power back on regularly. This is what has happened to both ports.
Also, you can try to disconnect internal laptop keyboard and try to loging with an external USB laptop. I have a DV like the one you disassembled. It worked fine until two days ago, when the battery went out — Disassembyl shut down. Did you separate heatsink from the CPU? It is two hexagonal silver standoffs. Hi an adaptor power cable that was the wrong polarity was plugged into my HP DV there was a pop, but the computer kept running and fully functioning on battery power untill the battery went flat.
Now, when the power button cover separated from the top cover, you can remove the keyboard as it shown on the picture below.
I did all of that took off the bezel checked if the connection was ok and i unplugged it and replugged it and turned my laptop on and it didnt work. Also, where the hell are speaker connectors? This will remove most dust from the cooling module. The battery release is jammed, thus preventing the battery from sliding out of the battery compartment. It is not working properly and is very dark. My fent made an aweful noise, so i cleaned it using your guide and it works perfectly! Did you remove the heatsink for cleaning? You can remove the keyboard and the bezel and get access to the fan as it shown in the step Does the keyboard connector look damaged?
